1. About LighterLoad

LighterLoad (“the Service”) is an AI-powered coaching tool delivered via WhatsApp. It is designed to support personal reflection on relationships, family life, and life administration. The Service is operated by LighterLoad (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing or using LighterLoad, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Important Disclaimers

LighterLoad is not therapy or medical advice

LighterLoad is a wellness coaching tool for personal reflection. It is not a licensed therapist, counsellor, psychologist, psychiatrist, or medical provider. It does not provide therapy, counselling, clinical diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. No professional-client relationship is created by using LighterLoad. The Service is not a substitute for professional mental health care, and you should not rely on it as such.

You are interacting with AI, not a human

LighterLoad is powered entirely by artificial intelligence. You are interacting with an AI system, not a human being. Your messages are processed by AI language models (currently Claude by Anthropic) to generate responses. No human reads your conversations.

AI limitations

LighterLoad uses artificial intelligence, which is a developing technology. The AI may misunderstand your messages, provide inaccurate information, or give suggestions that are not appropriate for your specific situation. You acknowledge that AI-generated coaching content is for informational and reflective purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

3. Not for Emergencies

LighterLoad is not designed for emergencies or crisis situations. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 000 (Australia) or your local emergency services.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use LighterLoad. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your WhatsApp number up to date.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or manipulate the AI system
• Share another person's sensitive personal information (such as medical records, financial account numbers, or government IDs) through the Service
• Use the Service on behalf of a minor
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls

7. Subscriptions and Payments

LighterLoad offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard. Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. Refunds are provided at our discretion.

8. Sensitive Personal Information

By using LighterLoad, you may choose to share information about your relationships, emotions, family circumstances, health concerns, and other personal matters. You acknowledge that you are voluntarily sharing this information and consent to it being processed as described in our Privacy Policy.

LighterLoad actively strips identifying details (full dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, financial account numbers) from its stored memories to protect your privacy and the privacy of the people you discuss.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, LighterLoad's total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

LighterLoad shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, any AI-generated content or suggestions, or any actions you take based on information provided by the Service.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LighterLoad, its operators, and its service providers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via WhatsApp or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
